  1. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add 1 1/2 tbsp of butter, reserve the rest of the butter for later.
  2. Chop your veggies into small pieces. The idea here is to trick the kids, so chop them small! I recommend no bigger than 3/4 inch pieces.
  3. Saute the onion for 2 minutes, until it starts to soften.
  4. Add the rest of the veggies and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften as well.
  5. Remove veggies from the pan and set aside.
  6. Add reserved butter. When it has melted, add your ground beef to the pan. Cook until no pink can be seen, breaking up the meat as you go.
  7. Once the meat is cooked through, return the veggies to the pan, along with the tomato sauce and seasonings. Lower your heat to medium low and continue to cook the sauce for 15 minutes or until the tomato sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
  8. Ladle this sauce over your kids favorite pasta or veggie noodles!
