Instructions
  1. Heat a large heavy bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Heat the olive oil and add the ground meat. Brown thoroughly, breaking it up as you go.
  2. Add the onion and garlic. Sprinkle with salt and saute for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are soft. Add the cabbage to the pot and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add spices and Worcestershire sauce and stir to combine. Cook until the aroma of the spices is released.
  4. Pour in the red wine vinegar and deglaze the pot. When the vinegar smell is gone, pour in your tomatoes and drop in the bay leaves. At this point, you can choose to use rice or cauliflower rice. If using cauliflower rice, thaw the frozen bag in the microwave for 3 minutes, and then add to pot. If using rice, add the rice and the broth. The broth is NOT NEEDED if you are using cauliflower rice.
  5. Bring the soup to a boil and then reduce to a low simmer. Cook for about 15 minutes. The rice will be almost done. Turn the burner off, cover the soup, and let sit for about 10 minutes.
